Hello Sir.

Been listening to your information for a few months. Some of the "old time" practices in beekeeping are fascinating and helpful. That being said, not everything done 100-150 years ago is automatically correct. I'm an arborist of 42 years and they were still painting tree wounds, filling cavities with concrete and topping trees when I started. Old practices that have been proven incorrect. So some traditions can be incorrect. Ask 10 beekeepers a question and get 10 different answers.

Regarding pollen and bee bread, I believe it to be fairly well taught and accepted that it's the engine driving the hive. It's location in the hive often varies from hive to hive. Many of my hives put it all in 2 or 3 frames, on the edges of the box and mine it from there.
Not sure why.

The brood coombs are often crescent moon shape with honey like a rainbow. Some will mix in bee bread, some won't. As long as I keep the major bee bread near the brood frames, the nurse bees figure it out. Beautiful creamy milk brood results, swimming in royal jelly, the engine of a healthy larva and eventually a healthy bee. As long as a hive has adequate bee bread, its exact location doesn't really matter, from what I have observed. I've watched them put a lot of it in the first meduim honey super just above the two deep boxes. I just leave it there, even with a queen excluder on they eventually use it. Bees know way more about raising bees then we do. Thanks for all you videos.
My job is to minimize their minor mistakes and bad tendencies, ( robbing, burr coomb, over production of drones early in the season and even swarming). Robbing is the worst. Never found anything that stops it other then moving the hive far away and even that isn't perfect. Screens, grass, entrance reducers, more quard bees. Good luck. Its a dead hive almost every time if you catch it to late.

I’ve been feeding pollen for two weeks now these are taking it down every day. When do I stop feeding them pollen when the golden rod hits?

If you're new to beekeeping, the most powerful step you can take early on is to find a seasoned, veteran beekeeper with MANY years of experience. This will shave years of off your learning curve. An Aye-Eye mentor? Not recommended!
