Southern Ontario Canada here. My worst power outage lasted 4 days -- we get ice storms in Ontario that can certainly lead to power outages. At those times you shelter in place because the roads are still treacherous.

I have an apartment, but hardly there due to work . I travel and stay in different apartments maybe 2 weeks at a time difficult to store .

I keep a rechargeable thumb flash light on my keys which I have with me at all times. 😊🙏🇮🇪

Longest I've been without power was about 24 hours. The main power supply cable, from the mainland to our island, failed late at night during a hot spell that had actually melted the cable. The water never failed, as our system is largely gravity fed. I had flashlights and did fine. I still had a land line, so phone usage wasn't a problem. I amused myself that night by reading with a flashlight while listening to music on my battery powered radio. The next day I chatted with the neighbours in the building lobby and read, and used a propane camp stove to cook. I only opened my fridge quickly when I needed something then banged it shut. Everything on the whole island was shut down. No TV, no stores were open, nothing was open or functioning. The radio stations kept broadcasting with their emergency generators, so we had new of repair progress, and of course the hospitals had generators, but there were no street lights or traffic lights in the whole city. It was eerie. Sometime during the next night the lights came back on and woke me up. Remarkable lack of panic on all fronts. But this was more or less 'pre-internet' and before many people even had cell phones - and people back then were less labile.

Cooler and a blackout drawer i never thought about that. I've been through a blackout it was local and the power wasn't out that long 2 max the power was out
