  Book Wu was proud that he was able to recreate the raptors, the fact they could naturally breed was proof he got it right. &nbsp;Wu also wanted to go to the next &nbsp;phase of genetic manipulation and wanted them to be more docile. &nbsp;So book Wu was definitely the better Wu, just horrible he had to die

  Honorable mention for the park worker that Regis flew to the small Costa Rican clinic at the beginning of the novel. The way the American doctor mentally describes the guy&apos;s wounds. Deep slashes, defensive wounds on his hands. A slimy foam covering his torso wounds. &quot;You said he got run over by an earth-mover?&quot; The guy sits up, suddenly awake, eyes wide, terrified. &quot;Lo-sa-raptor,&quot; are his last words before he violently vomits blood all over the exam table. The medical aide steps back in horror. The man continuously vomits blood, gurgling and thrashing in horror and pain as the team struggles to save him. After the guy dies, the doc asks the aide what &quot;raptor&quot; means. &quot;It means &apos;hupia.&apos; The doctor rolls his eyes. A &quot;spirit&quot; didn&apos;t kill that Ingen worker. Later that night, the doc looks up &quot;raptor&quot; in the dictionary. &quot;Raptor: a bird of prey.&quot; And that&apos;s the PROLOGUE of the novel. I just got chills from just reciting that scene from my memory. I&apos;ve read both books at least ten times apiece, and that scene lives rent-free in my head since I first read it like, 25 years ago.

  The fact that Hammond’s death in the books is because the kids were messing with the sound system always makes me sad. So glad they never learn what caused their grandpa’s death!

  Read both novels back-to-back recently. Have to say, Michael Crichton was a brilliant writer.
