I wish the movie had the book moment where Malcolm proves to Hammond, Arnold and Wu that the dinosaurs were breeding by having them count the amount of dinos on the island instead of the expected amount.

Spielberg probably like "look, I'm not fucking dealing with submerging an animatronic in water ever again so this is gone."

HBO should pick up a series based on the book that’s more dark

These deleted scenes explains a lot of why some none existing dinosaurs and equipment were sold as toys as well as some never seen things like the Game on Sega had a river/raft level.

The CGI from decades later looks so much worse. It's insane.

Still can't believe it's been more than 30 years and we still haven't had a "director's cut" or an "extended" version. We know there's tons of material that's there

I’m so thankful they kept Ian as a hero not a coward. That would have broken my heart

if anyone that has not read the book is curious, in the original t-rex scene its a lot less heroic by both parties. it's also significantly faster, its described as there being a strike of lightning illuminating the road ahead of them. they see the t-rex moving to the car with the kids in it. then in the next flash of lightning they see the car get thrown by the rex into the trees of the road. at this point malcom asks grant if there is anything he thinks they can do to which grant just shakes his head. so ian goes may as well try and proceeds to try and run getting grabbed by the rex in the effort, and whilst this is happening grant then tries to run in the opposite direction. the entire scene is more about just how utterly helpless they feel vs a predator this size, there is no heroics. no over the top horror just a very swift and brutal attack that nobody was prepared for. both book and movie versions are absolutely amazing but very different
