  Microtransactions used to be called that because they were small dollar amounts.<br>Look at Diablo 4 right now. You can get an outfit for the cost of... the game again.<br>We&apos;ve reached the era of MACROTRANSACTIONS.

  The most audacious to me will always be “Asura’s Wrath”. They literally cut the last chapters of the game and then try and sell it to you. <br>The game “ends” on a huge cliffhanger, making it seem like they are setting up for a sequel. However, you then get told you can purchase the last couple of chapters to complete the story/game. <br><br>This one STILL drives me up the wall with how shameless it was.

  To me the most baffling and ridiculous microtransactions are cosmetic microtransactions, in a single player game, that are set to first person and you cant even see your character (like Ghostwire).

  My pick for most absurd microtransaction goes to Borderlands 3 for putting any in after explicitly saying there would be no microtransactions.

  I&apos;m convinced that we all are just misunderstanding the term &quot;microtransaction&quot;. It&apos;s not the seemingly small amount of cash you&apos;re coughing up but rather the little amount of value you&apos;re getting for the former!

  We need to stop calling them &apos;Microtransactions&apos; because publishers love it, such a soothing name for something that can get totally out of control and can be pretty expensive. E.g. he Gold Lightning camo combined with the Scourge Blueprint and connected to an actual Wunderwaffe replica in Black ops 6 will cost $470.

  So here&apos;s an honorable mention: Vampire: the Masquerade Bloodlines 2&apos;s attempt to sell a third of the base game&apos;s clans as microtransactions available only if you bought the most expensive version of the game. This is honorably mentioned because Paradox made those clans part of the base game after everyone showed how bad of an idea that was.

  I feel like Mike&apos;s button-mashing bit is actually just him trying to wind Andy up.<br><br>Also, I&apos;d never heard of that Tekken 7 frame data nonsense, that is both skulduggery and tomfoolery of the highest calibre.

  Seeing some of these &apos;microtransactions&apos; are like $20, the cost of some full indie games that can be better than AAA titles, these should just be called macrotransactions, egregious monetisation, or some such
