I'm old enough to remember seeing other players in a game that were kitted out with wild gear and admiring them because it was a sign that they earned it through in-game actions. Now I see a player blinged out and shake my head.

Any micro-transaction on a paid single player game is unfair

I love when Falcon gets legitimately pissed off during his videos. He just changes his tone to a whole level of screw you real quick

Microtransactions and Twitch and Kick streamers spending thousands of dollars on just one game in one session has ruined modern gaming abit for me, we normal people dont have that much money to spend just like that. I prefer the old times when it was just pay to play and it was about fun, thats it.. just fun.

You should do a Top 10 List on longest time that games have stayed in early access. I swear I've seen multiple games on steam that have been in "early access" for like 5+ years

Funny story about the PoE one:
Back when it was in beta I started hearing about the game, reading up on it, and checking out forums and such.

Seen a few dudes who had invested alot of interest and/or money since the game began, but one was the most prolific.

He had donated an unruly amount of money to the dev team because he was so passionate about the game. He was the first person to buy the $12,500 pack, due to his undying fervor for the game and the development team that he championed for years. Not only that, he had "donated" enough to the game that he even got invited to their studio for a visit and some bonuses, and all that. Made his custom enemy with the pack. He got to make a custom legendary item (I cant recall if it was another microtransaction that players could purchase... I want to say it was but they had too many people wanting to pay to do that, that they eventualky stopped...) The item was even several levels different than any other in the game, iirc it could be upgraded 2 times through various secret recipes that the community had to figure out for themselves. Even got to make a custom in-game pet companion too. Plus he got tons of swag and collectors items from the team. This was clearly the most important thing to this dude at that point, and life seemed good.

Either shortly before full release, or shortly after, he had some sort of falling out with the game/dev team, their direction and choices for the game, and/or there may have been some sort of issue he had with not being as "appreciated as he should be" for his support and efforts towards the game, the forums, and generally everything surrounding the game upto that point... and he up and left the whole thing behind. Even before every item he had designed even came out.

I couldnt say if he remained astray since, as once the game fully came out I stopped lurking the forums and just played the game for myself.

Anyways, tldr: guy paid/donated tens of thousands, or more, for microtransaction and other things, and then completely quit the game shortly after.
