  Fractured my spine in a skiing accident. Healed mostly, but my spare tyre changing days are over. So the lack of a spare tyre is a non issue. Thanks Alex for another excellent video.

  Feb2026: &nbsp;I own a 2023 Forester Sport.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; I&apos;m retired and don&apos;t drive much, but almost all my driving is suburban light-to-light. &nbsp;No snow driving anymore since I gave up skiing (Sacramento CA). <br> &nbsp; &nbsp; My Sport Subie is wasted on me. &nbsp; Once in a blue moon I take a trip and completely fill up the trunk. &nbsp; No more local adventures with sports equipment. &nbsp;Regular Costco runs fill my trunk for 2 miles (I live close).<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; A hybrid would suit me well, but the small savings in gas do not justify the higher price, more complex maintenace, higher weight (effects handling), and lack of spare tire. &nbsp;Unfortunately I am not able to use the &quot;spare tire&quot; around my waist as a substitute.😂<br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Another negative is the higher hood of the 2026 models [making space for the hybrid?]. &nbsp; The boxer flat 4 is lower than inline 4s, especially when everyone else sticks the tranny under the engine. &nbsp;Subie puts the tranny behind the engine, lowering the hood and the center of gravity. &nbsp; They were the only SUV with a low hood line.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp;Soooo, the 2026 Forester hybrid, without a spare, with an elevated hood, and with higher cost, does not appeal to me.<br> &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;Retired in Sacto.

  Hear you about using the spare but having it is a great peace of mind. &nbsp;Not having it is a BIG minus for me!

  Wouldn’t consider it without a spare, especially as a vehicle you should be able to take off road. For a strictly city car, fine if you don’t mind it. Great video as always, thanks Alex.

  I have one year to think about what to do with no spare tire on a road trip from California to Alaska. &nbsp;The Yukon highway is pretty rough with long stretches of no services or cell service for roadside. &nbsp;So far I think my plan will be to carry the spare and accessories on top of the car because I will need my cargo space but I am contemplating taking my chances. &nbsp;I made the trip last summer in a a 2016 Corolla with no issues. &nbsp;I did my regular tire rotation on the return trip. &nbsp;So far I am averaging 37 mpg with a good mix of highway and town driving. &nbsp;This is better than the Corolla.

  We purchased a hybrid Forester last week and traded in our Outback. &nbsp;Love it so far … it is a much smoother and quieter engine than our 2.5l Outback. &nbsp;I don’t feel like I have to push unusually harder on the accelerator to get more get up and go. &nbsp;Bonus is our dog can now see out the rear passenger windows… could not in the Outback.

  Even my 18 Camry Hybrid has a spare tire. Helped me once.
