charcoal is put in a ton of beauty and self care and natural health products and is marketed as "natural." people who are into "natural health" like to do "detoxes" and activated charcoal is an actual detox, unlike many of the other things these ppl use, since its given as treatment to ppl who ingested something toxic, but natural health ppl just figure charcoal must be good for them and must be "dexotifying" their bodies whenever they take it so theyll eat it for believed health benefits. so i can see why the kind of person thats afraid of fluoride would like charcoal lol

Angela, if you lost a white sock, it's under your red Ikea chair next to the couch.

You were worried about your fluoride video not popping off but didn't expect rfk to become the secretary of health and human services

I'm an AMO physicist and I love my alkali metals so much that the very idea of Flouride upsets me so much that I start convulsing. I sleep next to my tube of vaporized Rubidium and I have nightmares someone might turn it into a salt

My conspiracy theory is that the they encourage conspiracy theories in order to discredit 'conspiracy' theories.

25:20 "Did you think... When you grew up you'd have to spend time convincing adults to care about other people?" Is a sentiment many have had over the last few years, I'm afraid. It is disheartening but at least we have the comfort of other people saying liars and conspiracy theorists are dumb.

As the target audience for that charcoal toothpaste and a previously staunch anti-fluoridian without ever knowing why thank you for educating me

I’m a school psychologist. That experience of having completely random laypeople tell you wrong information with ridiculous confidence is every day of my working life. And a lot of it is about IQ tests so I freaked out when you brought it up. I could give a four hour rage fueled impromptu rant on all the ways people misunderstand and misuse IQ tests and scores and how damaging it is!

When I was 8 years old I still had all my baby teeth. The dentist told me that it was because my teeth were "hyper-responsive to fluoride" He claimed they weren't ever coming out, and used that as an excuse to extract them all manually, 4 at a time over several visits. Then, when my adult teeth still didn't come through, they dragged them down orthodontically. This caused untreatable lifelong problems because my adult teeth weren't yet fully formed. But maybe worse - taking that garbage belief about fluoride on good faith also led me to avoid fluoride (and dentists) until I figured out much later in life that my childhood dentist was either just plain wrong, or making work for himself and his orthodontist buddy. Anyway, I lost several adult teeth to decay by my mid 30s, until I shed the "fluoride = bad" association. I know first hand what avoiding fluoride does for your teeth in the long term, it isn't good, but the good news is you can halt the damage by simply using fluoride again.

TL;DR: Use fluoride, and get second opinions.
