  Don't forget Dr. Alan L. Hart born in 1890 and died in 1962,  he was a pioneering american physician, radiologist, and was one of the first known trans man to undergo gender affirming surgery in the U.S in 1917. He also developed groundbreaking tuberculosis screening programs in the 1930's to the 1940's, utilizing mass chest X - rays to detect the disease early. Which has saved countless lives.

  The thing that pisses me off is that if you talk about how trans men are often left out of trans or feminist activism you get accused of "making everything about men" and its like, gee if only we were talking about a specific kind of man who gets erased and ignored...

  its genuinely so crazy how community infighting has gotten so bad that transmascs (including masc enbies) are being pushed out by other queer people for being "Traitors To Femininity". terf ideology is truly a plague.

  I had another side of the transmasculine experience - I knew two trans boys growing up. But I heard the way people talk about them here in Texas as well as.. pretty much everywhere. My autism diagnosis came when I was 6 years old. I thought that being diagnosed as autistic meant that I wasn't allowed to be trans, and that if I lived openly as myself if that it'd make my friends or all trans men look bad. The ableism built into transandrophobia is something people rarely talk about.

  Honestly as a trans woman I’d like to see mainstream media talk about trans men more and trans women less. I’m tired of the aggressive hypervisibilty.

  black/indigenous american trans masc here and yeah, we're basically invisible esp when we're of color. There's basically no representation even in the trans community to the point where my existence served as an example for a former friend that transitioning to male was an option. ive talked to ppl who didn't even know trans men/trans mascs exist. i personally struggle with my masculinity cuz my interests lean more "feminine" but im working on it.

  It took me a really long time to figure out my identity, because genuinely thought that only trans women exist. I had no idea that I could be trans, because I’d never even heard of trans men in any form of media, ever, in any form. This is a very important vid

  I transitioned MtF at age 65, and my FtM husband is younger; we got together just as we were starting the changes.  I have often commented that I spent 65 years playing a role, and then I stopped.

  As a trans man myself we barely have media that represents us and often get forgotten in the media and I honestly wish we had more trans man representation to be honest.

  For me seeing Gottmik on drag race was life changing because here Im seeing not just a transman in media but a transman who's openly gay and a drag queen and still considered a man. Cause Im not like hyper masculine or straight like most of the sliver of what transman representation has. I'm a gay guy who does drag too. Its so fucking important for all kinds of transman gay, straight, black or brown, all kinds of transguys to be represented. And I hope drag race will cast another transman on the show we need to be included too because cis gays keep pushing us out.
