It is sad that transphobia is just a repackage of homophobia in the past. What makes it even worse is how some people “support” gay rights but do not support trans rights. You cannot separate the T from LGBT.

I think the answer is obvious: “none of us are free until all of us are free” ABSOLUTELY includes youth. Until youth have full rights, they will continue to be used in this fashion, to the detriment of us all.

A lot of conservatives are aware that queer children exist. And intentionally try to prevent them from discovering any quiet community possible. And they genuinely don’t care if it causes a child to kill themselves.<br>I’ve been to funerals where adults stated this was preferable than the child coming out as queer. It is disturbing. And it is genocidal.<br>They want to erase us. And they can’t.

It's interesting how so many of these anti-trans laws (such as the bathroom bans) turn into "police women's femininity" laws when put into practice.

I grew up in a very not-queer town and went to a very not-queer catholic school and yet I knew the whole time I was neither cis nor straight, even though the little bit I would hear about queer folks (beyond how we all were going to spontaneously catch AIDS and die alone) was that we "chose the lifestyle" because we were "indoctrinated." It infuriates me how many people from my and my parents' generations apparently never grew out of the lifestyle of condemning others into which they were indoctrinated to the point where they keep falling for the same lines over and over again... 🏳🌈🏳⚧
