  Your pond build is going great! &nbsp;Suggestion - use the land upstream of that drain entrance to act as the filter. It will take some research and work , but you have a lot of land in that area that can be configured to act as a massive and passive natural filter.

  Hi Brad, you might want to look into the following for the big rain events that you get:<br><br>Straw Wattles: Tight tubular rolls made of straw that can be laid flat or snaked around areas to slow down and filter overland water flow. They are perfect for slopes, bare dirt lots, and protecting storm drains from sediment pollution. [1, 2, 3]<br><br>Straw/Erosion Control Blankets: Rolled mats designed to cover bare or seeded soil. They reduce runoff velocity and keep seeds in place while grass roots establish to hold the soil permanently.<br><br>Everything is expensive in SoCal but these might be better priced where you are at.
