  From the perspective of a designer who works in tech, this is a perfect metaphor for what working with a "sales engineer" is like. From insisting on a hideous design because "he knows what (demographic) wants," ignoring the advice of people who actually WORK ON THE CODE as to why it's not feasible, right down to the casual misogyny. At least the new owners will have a free-range, organic black mold farm.

Grover was a real engineer, when engineers don’t know how to do something we find the documentation or regulations and we read them. When a salesman doesn’t know how to do something they just make up something that sounds reasonable on the fly and then push their way through with confidence
