The kickbacks weren't Kmart's money either so "they" didn't steal money from Kmart what they did was undermine the company's efforts.

Kmart was not even going to make it or even turn anything around either in the 2000s. They were already at the point of no return by the time Lampert took over. The Great Recession would have killed the company entirely if no one ever bought them out of bankruptcy and the IP would have just been dissolved so it could never be used again

Hold up, how was a bribe paid to this man taking money out of K-Marts pockets?<br><br>Did Kmart sell premium shelf space in this guy redirected that money into his own account, or as you said was this a bribe paid to a group of individuals who then made sure these product has the space?<br><br>If they were paying him a bribe, that money would have never gone to k-mart to begin with, unless like I said he was redirecting that money.<br><br>But if he came up with a scheme to get suppliers to pay him money for him to do something for them then that did not take money away from K-Mart directly.<br><br>You imply that because he got this money, that K-mart was robbed of it. But if it was a bribe K-mart never “lost” this money because they never would’ve gotten it in the first place.<br><br>So either the suppliers paid him a bribe on the side or he was redirecting (stealing) money from the company itself which if that were the case how in the world would it take so long for them to realize they’re missing tens of millions of dollars?
