Thanks for watching everyone, I’m BLOWN AWAY by the response and appreciate each one of the views and comments.

Just wanted to make this correction clear, African Americans were given NOTHING in reparations.

only a small number of formerly enslaved Black people actually received “40 acres and a mule,” and those land grants were quickly taken away. The phrase comes from Special Field Order No. 15, issued by Union General William Tecumseh Sherman on January 16, 1865, during the Civil War.

What the Order Promised:
• It set aside 400,000 acres of land along the coast of South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
• This land was to be divided into 40-acre plots for formerly enslaved families.
• The U.S. Army later allowed some settlers to use surplus mules from the military, which is where the phrase “40 acres and a mule” originated.

What Happened After:
• About 40,000 formerly enslaved people settled on the land under Sherman’s order.
• However, after President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated, his successor Andrew Johnson reversed the policy.
• By the end of 1865, the federal government returned most of the land to former Confederate owners.
• The formerly enslaved families were evicted, losing their chance for economic independence.

Legacy:
• The failure to provide the promised land became a symbol of broken promises and is a central point in discussions about reparations.
• While some Black families did acquire land through purchase or other means during Reconstruction, the lack of systemic support created a severe racial wealth gap that persists today.

So, while some formerly enslaved people briefly had land under Sherman’s order, the U.S. government’s failure to honor and protect those land grants has had long-term consequences for Black wealth and opportunity.

The GTA cheat code, I looked it up and tried it in GTA, it doesn’t work and is false, but it could be for something else…

Appreciate the love ❤️

Samuel Jackson’s role is more significant when you realize he was a Black Panther and worked with MLK Jr. He’s spent his whole life fighting against the system Kendrick raps about. Our own Uncle Sam Jackson is no stranger to the real Uncle Sam.

Great analysis. Didn't mention the part when all the dancers lay on the ground symbolising the chalked bodies on the pavements lost through violence towards black people.

When you're used to performances that are all about this glitz and glam that don't really mean anything and not in touch with american history [I'm white and I'm not american], I was someone in particular who didn't initially love Kendrick's performance. However, it was very clear that I didn't understand everything that was happening in the performance and so I continued to re-watch and learn and I am BLOWN AWAY by how many layers and meanings and impacts this performance had and I can't stop rewatching.
This was easily one of the best performances at the superbowl of all time. It leaves an impactful message that you can't forget, but I have forgotten what stunts or tricks that happened in other superbowl performances that were, at the time, exciting to watch. Kendrick's performance was live, hard-hitting poetry.

The Irony is Doechi Grammy Speech was basically the same message Kendrick was sending to America Hers was just more centered on Black Women and Kendrick was more to Blackmen but the messages were almost the same about not be accepted because we are Loud, Too Black or too Woke.

“The revolution is about to be televised. You picked the right time but the wrong guy.” he said it but not everybody got it.

I’m not a rap fan. Knew nothing about the beef. I got the picture. He says he can sit you in front of the louvre and you won’t get the picture. Well, I got the picture. That performance was a masterpiece. Thanks for allowing me to experience your music. The revolution was televised. You were the right guy

Any person of color should understand its not about any rappers beef. Its for the people and culture. I am asian american and i did not know 40acres and a mule. I know about the homestead act. I know no real decent land was given back to indigenous people. I know there is so many barriers for african americans to have land . Thank you Kendrick Lamar. You taught me american history, the african american story.

"GAME OVER " at the end of the show is a reference to "Operation Game Over," which was a sting that arrested 71 sex traffickers at the Super Bowl back in 2021 as well as 2025.
