The timing of the video cuts on losing the replacement washer was perfect 😂

Oh wow I just had a major nostalgia rush watching this, back in the 1980’s my parents had that very same system including the turntable and the speakers too all in a glass door’d cabinet, so good to see this ❤

The channel "Mend It Mark" has a video of popping open a motor  like this and actually rewinding the armature. Amazing...

That capstan washer - the bane of repairing. So easy to lose it, I lost one and also can't find it anymore. Great video and awesome deck, simple mechanic, beautiful, strong, similar to my Tensai TFL-815. These decks are a goldmine because they are simple, basic mechanics,  easy to service and if you find one with a good head you got yourself a proper product. 😇

Had you known about the way those buttons were assembled, you probably would have opted to not remove them in the first place. That is a very classic unit and you did a great job on it. Those are highly prized. You did a great job, that took a lot of work.

That cassette deck is part of the champagne series that came out in 1980. Pioneer had just started to go away from the aluminum silver faceplates with the blue displays. They were trying to go for a more modern look. When I was in Okinawa Japan I could have bought that complete stereo but I went for the old style instead.

Nice work!  Another trick for removing the belt goo from pulleys is alcohol soaked wood toothpicks.

This is fascinating. I am watching back your earlier content after watching all your recent stuff, and notice how much you have learned from experience. You always oil motors, you always lubricate and clean. You still forget to attach power switch rods (lol). Your tools have improved you now have proper picks and pointy things, nice silicon mat, bench power supply etc. Of course your production quality has improved massively, but to be fair this is still brilliant.

This one gave you a bit of a run for your money. It is interesting seeing you fix these things. You are essentially giving them a second life after 50 years or so. Thanks again for being awesome. I know you can't help it!
