  That is a beautiful speed square.Some viewers don&apos;t need one. Some viewers can&apos;t afford one, but I am certain that 99% of the viewers WANT one.

  Dan is the math teacher that I needed in high school. Formulas without applications meant nothing to me as a student. If I had had an application for every formula, I would have learned and retained all of them.

  I&apos;m an electrician by trade, math didn&apos;t make sense until I started bending conduit {uses trigonometry of all things}, that was my &quot;ah-ha&quot; moment. &nbsp;Getting into electrical theory helped bunches too.

  You said something that brought goosebumps to my neck. &nbsp;Being able to connect math to a practical application in the real world did it for me. &nbsp;My statics class in our large university was a real struggle. This was in the days of only having slide rules. &nbsp;I had an excellent engineering professor in college (I wish I could remember his name to give him credit) and one day I stayed until everyone left and explained to him how much I was struggling to understand what we were actually doing. &nbsp;I have to add I always did well in math. &nbsp;In 10 minutes, he explained the &quot;what and why&quot; we were calculating the vectors and forces for a bridge. &nbsp;I had an earlier apprentice working experience in bridge construction contract management. &nbsp;That was all it took! &nbsp;My light bulb turned on immediately, and I finished with a B+ for the class only due to my early lower grade struggles. &nbsp;After that 10-minute explanation, my homework took 1/3 the time and I looked forward to every class. &nbsp;Thanks for the memory by your few words and an excellent professor. &nbsp;<br>I just wish my calculus professor could have done the same for me. &nbsp;I passed but not with flying colors. &nbsp;It probably would have helped had he not spoken with such broken English. &nbsp;<br>Excellent video. &nbsp;Thanks.
