Growing up we never had paper towels, sheets on beds, dryer or matching silverware. 50 years later, I'm still alive . Happy and alive😄 instead of paper towels we had one or 2 dish towels passed around the table when needed. Instead of sheets we had a blanket folded- think sleeping bag, duel purpose. Instead of matching silverware we got what we could. Probably when people moved or got a new set we got their cast offs. Our family of 5 lived in a 500 sq ft basement house in the Nevada desert. Mind you ,i did not grow up in the Depression. This was 1975-1985. We made do and we survived. In 2026 I still don't have matching silverware even though I can now afford it ... but you know what I'm still happy and I still set a nice table like Shayla suggests ❤❤❤

Bone broth from chicken bones was one of the things i learned this year! I get rotisserie chicken from Costco since its usually cheaper than a whole bird where I am- we have the chicken as-is for one meal, pick the meat for soup or pot pie for a second, and slow cook the bones for stock for a later meal! <br>I save veggie scraps in the freezer for veggie stock too- once a gallon bag is full, its ready to make stock in the crock pot! 😊

Tip: Everyone in the house has to be on the same page. I have a husband and stepson that can spend like nobody's business and trying to constantly manage the financial circus is exhausting. They complain about being broke, then when I try to implement a saving plan it somehow reinforces that we are broke. When I try to explain that having the money to be able to put into a savings, means we are doing pretty good they look at me like I am from mars. So, if you don't have a spouse that is supportive or has the same goals and mindset, this won't work. However, I am enjoying your video(s) because they give me some good ideas or rather ways of looking at some things that I once thought were burdens, I see they can be ways of finding the quiet moments. I LOVE the aprons. They are becoming my newest obsession...lol.

Havent used paper products in 40 years. At that time i calculated it saved me 300 a year. Imagin how much you save now. Thank you for sharing these tips with everyone. Your aprons are lovely.

Not sure if you are actually low income but if you are you have made it look lovely. Low income does not mean living in squallor or eating junk foods. Love this.

❤ I so enjoy your channel. I truly feel God led me to your channel after we were blessed with our son after 12 years of marriage. I have been a nurse my whole life and while yes I made a good income after working that career for 20 years I so felt the pull on my heart from the Lord to leave and to be with him full time for my ministry for my family. My husband is supportive and in agreement with that calling but that did make us currently a low income home. Your videos helped me while I prayerfully out in my notice and made the choice to leave while many friends and family thought I was making a poor decision . Thank you for the light of your channel. For shining Gods truth and love. I appreciate you! My son is now 17 months old and I’ve so enjoyed no missing 1 single minute! Nothing I could have bought us with that Job could replace that time and opportunity with him.

I would love to get my family away from paper towels and paper napkins. My goal for this year is to eliminate those things. I'm the one who does the wash, and that little bit of extra laundry is worth it to me. I want to sew my own, so I guess it's time for me to bring out my mother's sewing machine and learn. I love the apron, by the way.

You say your house is unfinished, but that’s ok. It looks great to me. You have a beautiful kitchen. It takes time. Love the aprons too.

I’m a “ newbie”Here!! I love finding things for my home 2nd hand, I live on disability, I’m 62, have heavy challenges to deal with but I don’t let it stop me! I love decorating, cooking, I make my dogs food homemade, their jerky treats, garden ,can, freeze, etc. it makes me feel good as well! Homemade bread is the best! Your pans are beautiful and the healthiest to use, no toxins! Your place is lovely, you’re doing great! Happy I found you! 🩷
