Also, just the concept of a knight suffering or doomed to be alone is just endlessly entertaining. I will never get tired of it because it will always make the viewer think "huh I wonder why he's like this?" Also outside of gaming Guts from Berserk is another great example, his whole character design is to suffer. (even though he's not a Knight).
