  I&apos;m Filipino American. Baguio is overcrowded and even the locals complain about the traffic and infra that&apos;s always behind. Same with Boracay. Hate to say this but the local governments who tout a nice spot eff it up always. Like a really nice natural waterfalls and they end up paving the walkway, putting metal picnic tables by the falls pool and a massive sign that says &quot; I (heart) Kawasan Falls. So tacky. Its like that most everywhere in PI.

  It&apos;s good to thoroughly consider options, with that said -- this video was made through extremely rose-colored glasses. &nbsp;For example, Chaing Mai. It was mentioned how the dry season is so nice, comfortable temps, gentle breezes, etc. &nbsp;What it failed to mention was that it&apos;s also the burning season - where the air can get so bad that those sensitive to PM have to leave the region! &nbsp;Just be aware, in addition to these locations&apos; potential, they also each have their own unique and often &quot;real&quot; challenges.

  Happy for you. However when you retire you need to establish your cost structure, interests/sports and your health. Last year we spent 6 mths in Asia looking for a place from Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. &nbsp;Unfortunately none of these places would be good for us. &nbsp;First pollution is the biggest problem, second the food is low quality, shopping center are not so great for food choices, and cheap and last we can hardly use our bikes in some cities and lack paved road. &nbsp;So i will remain in Spain and we lived 50 km north of Valencia in a smaller village with rent of 1000 euros looking at the sea, the food is excellent especially meat, pollution is very very low because we are on the sea, lots of roads for our cycling activities and tracks in the hills for trekking, lastly health care is affordable for us at 70 yrs old. &nbsp;People should do a list and rank each places. &nbsp;Our health is the #1

  If you want Europe on a budget, I would skip Asia and seriously consider Latin America instead. We live in a UNESCO world heritage city in the highlands of Mexico, Guanajuato. Affordable cost of living, great food, and mild year-round climate. No air conditioning or heating required. Plenty of other cities in Latin America that meet that criteria if you don’t qualify financially for residency in Mexico. &nbsp;Antigua in Guatemala, Granada in Nicaragua (although &nbsp;seriously hot), Cuenca in Ecuador, Medellin in Colombia, and a whole load more to choose from. For the ultimate European vibe, Buenos Aires, although no longer affordable at this time. BIG bonus, you only need to learn Spanish (considerably easier than Asian languages), and you are good for the entire continent except Brazil. We have been to everywhere on your list while travelling in SE Asia, enjoyed them all for a visit, but none come close to Latin America for a European vibe at a more affordable cost of living.

  If you want Europe for less…go to Albania, it’s actually in Europe and sits on the Mediterranean and costs the same as Chiang Mai. &nbsp;😊
