  I played that James Bond bit as intro to The Rutles “Ouch” on my college radio show in the 1970’s. It took fast cuing up the turntables, and we laughed in the studio, even if no one else did.

  Despite being more used to the stereo mix, I do really like the vocal more on the mono mix. It feels a lot more "raw" like it is a strained cry for help.

  In 1970, I was 10 years old. My older brother and his friends were listening to our older sister's 45 collection. It was the first time I heard Help!. This was a moment I'll never forget. In 1976, I received my first guitar. I still play.

  Help! was the first film I ever saw at the cinema in the summer of 1965, I was 4 years old. My Mum took me to the local Odeon. I presume she wanted to see the film and you can't leave a toddler home alone, but it's what made me a Beatles fan.

  As a 72-year-old forever BEATLES FAN, I can state without hesitation that the MONO original 45 CAPITOL (US) version is my preferred recording of this tune with absolutely the best guitar work by George and the most 'punch!'!

  The full CTS version, including the intro, was used in the original release of the film. It also appeared on early VHS copies but was replaced with the common stereo version, probably some time in the eighties.
