  What I'm getting from this is, if your clothes smell like a taxidermy shop and you are in fact, NOT a taxidermist;  you probably shouldn't put that on your body.

  I used to think it was so crazy how in the Victorian era many people ended up wearing arsenic clothing and had no idea, or even the horrors the radium girls had to deal with. <br>Just to find companies today are perfectly fine poisoning people if they can make a bit of profit 😵

  For those who don&apos;t know. DO NOT mix ammonia with bleach, in case anyone thinks about mixing these two. You&apos;ll die and kill everyone else in the house.

  Chemist here. Please wash your clothes before wearing them. Fabric is often treated with things to prevent mold or bugs from eating it, because it is stored for long periods of time before it gets used.

  Great video, but just as a PSA: <i>&quot;well ventilated&quot;</i> does NOT mean <i>&quot;cracking open a window&quot;</i> . I made that mistake myself far too often. It means <i>&quot;under a fumehood&quot;</i> or (since most people don&apos;t have those) <i>&quot;outside on a slightly windy day&quot;</i> .

  Be very careful with ammonia. There is a reason chemists say to waft a chemical towards your nose with your hand and not stick your nose right in the bottle. In high school my friend didn’t listen to those instructions and stuck his nose right above a bottle of ammonia. We are 30 now and he still has absolutely zero sense of smell.   It&apos;s virtually impossible to thrift anymore because of people who swoop in and snatch literal carts full of anything <i>not</i> fast fashion to resale online at higher prices, leaving shops to deal with the fast fashion garbage. And it&apos;s not <i>just</i> clothing. <b>DO NOT</b> buy cosmetics from Temu or Shein. Don&apos;t buy pillows, blankets, towels, silverware, pans, etc, and don&apos;t buy toys for children or pets. So much of it is counterfeit (suspiciously cheap name brand cosmetics) and/or contaminated with heavy metals.

  In boot camp we were told new gear is dirty gear. Wash anything before wearing.
