  Trust patterns and behavior, not words. Don't fall in love with anyone's potential. Misery loves company. You are not a rehab for people who drag you along in their tumultuous lives and drown you.

  Once they learn they get away with betrayal, they will never change with you. They only fake change so you'll stay and get trauma bonded again

  When someone isn't sure about you, walk away. I have tried hard to teach both my kids this. If they aren't sure, then the answer is they don't want you. You want someone  who is all in.

  Damn. Hard hitting truths. I just finally got myself out of a trauma bond with a very messed up man who I loved so much. It took 6 years of my life. He was not a narcissist but he had fearful Avoident attachment and he was a habitual liar, a secret drug addict and a cheater. However he was also very loving and amazing with animals and a great artist and one of the most interesting and engaging people to talk to. It was like I was dealing with two separate individuals. The cognitive dissonance was intense! I learned a lot about my own schemas from that relationship.

  This episode made me realise that my standards are actually quite high now. I am genuinely shocked by what some people - both men and women - are willing to put up with. I see it with people I know irl and care about too. I'm talking strong, confident, good people, who put up with continuous disrespect and mistreatment. It is extremely saddening. I understand it can be scary to be alone, but surely that is better than being with someone who does not genuinely love and respect you.

  One of your best.  I hope they all find the courage to leave.  These men are not going to commit to you, and will waste precious years or your life.  Healing will take time - but not as much as the wasted years spent crying over someone who is sleeping with other people behind your back.  Be free. ❤

  I love your videos because you look at all sides. My brain is living in two different realities: his and my own. I’m trying to make sense about who is right and who is wrong to make sense of all this. You give credence to the fact that there are often realities between both of us, which really helps me calm down about the situation. Keep up the good work 🏆

  It's crazy OF US to think that we can fix crazy, especially after irreversible, destructive behavior, fundamental violation of boundries and complete loss of trust. It's a special form of blindness that is fascinating and deeply painful after the fact. I won't tell anyone not to go there because the burnt hand is the best teacher. After that the advice against fire goes down to the heart.

  ❤you are extraordinary!<br>I am going to be 65 yrs old <br>this year. And I do wish I was<br>told to follow my dreams <br>instead of looking to be <br>romanticized in my 20’s …🙏<br>Lots of lessons learned.<br><br>At this age I’m still learning <br>and growing and love technology.<br>That’s something we didn’t have<br>growing up and podcasts would <br>have been very helpful. <br><br>Knowledge is power, but it depends <br>on how you use it. The internet is <br>your library and in your hands, literally (your phone)…lol<br><br>There’s no reason to make that <br>many bad decisions… lol <br><br>I’m enjoying listening to experts <br>like you and hoping to have less regrets to remember in my future. 😊
