You can remove clothes but Put your boots/clothes in your blankets with you, body heat keep them warm all night… little trick my mom did to have warm clothes to get into for school 👍🇨🇦

Thanks for the post. Nice job thatching the pine bough roof. Couple of suggestions. 1) Thatch the walls at the time of construction. It’s easier than doing it after. 2) Don’t brush snow off your shelter as it aids with protection from wind and helps trap heat. 3) Check out the Siberian log fire. It requires less preparation and is much easier to maintain. Have fun!

Canada West here. Airforce Brat, so I lived all over the country. Snow is not to be feared. Quite the opposite. It is an insulator.

A few details. <br><br>Don’t scrape snow from the shelter. It provides far more insulation than those fir boughs do. Out at least your mittens in the sleeping bag with you. Consider doing the same with the boots. Keep the fire burning. Hot rocks is a good idea but hard to manage without means to move them. Round would be best. <br><br>Nice video.
