  You know, I could sit down and watch a whole bunch of Mel Brooks movies from start to finish and still want more. Mel Brooks is a master in a treasure, and when he passes away, the world will lose a comic genius.

  Why doesn&apos;t anyone EVER mention the very first parody movie ever made? That would be The Big Bus. Long before Airplane, it&apos;s the story of the first nuclear powered bus on its first trip. I refuse to allow this hidden classic to go unmentioned. It&apos;s hysterical. 😅

  One of my favourite parody movies is Rustlers Rhapsody, which parodies both Western serials &amp; the Spaghetti Westerns. Tom Berenger is Rex o&apos;Herlihan the Singing Cowboy, Andy Griffith is Colonel Triconderoga the evil cattle baron &amp; many more. Love that movie.

  Young Frankenstein holds a special place in my heart. I had my left knee operated on at the Air Force Hospital at Wiesbaden AB, Germany the day before. I managed to con the nurses into letting some of us to have whellchairs to go see the movie at the Hospital Theater. It help me ignore the pain just a little bit.

  An anecdote about Blazing Saddles that I read years ago. John Wayne rejected the offer to play the Waco Kid because of foul language. After reading the script he told Brooks that while he couldn&apos;t be in the movie, he&apos;d be first in line to get a ticket to see it.
