BREAKING NEWS: no one asked Suzuki whether he wants to be a Blue Jay or is more interested in signing somewhere else. When asked whether or not his interest or lack thereof is relevant, Jays GM Sammy Sweatervest rambled on incoherently about knocking on all the doors, pursuing every player, buying and selling in the offseason, getting younger and more athletic, and giving 110% in the pursuit of every free agent while doing all of the little things right and knowing what it takes to win.

Urias, Straw, Sewald are players I thought played well this year.

There's a 40hr, LH 3b/of being posted from Japan this winter too. Could potentially make that fit

I don't know too much about the specifics, but why don't they give McAdoo more playing time? From what I have seen, he has been playing well.

They should sign Mr. Fuji as manager. He took Yokozuna to the championship and can do the same for the Jays

 Wondering when this becomes tampering.

Or does MLB have more lax rules than other leagues regarding pursuing players currently employed by other teams?
Serious question.

Even if the Jays haven't talked to the player in question leaking Jays plans to the media so that the player and his team are aware that the Jays plan to lure him away from his own team after this season is over has the same effect and seems a bit questionable when the season is still ongoing.

But perhaps that's what all teams need to do to avoid being left behind in the race to get free agents.

According to AI:

Teams canmot approach, negotiate with,
OR SIGNAL PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYMENT INTENTIONS TO PLAYERS OR PERSONNEL ACTIVELY UNDER CONTRACT OR RESERVATION WITH ANOTHER ORGANIZATION WITHOUT EXPLICIT, WRITTEN PERMISSION.

Hmmmm...

They announce their intentions every offseason so they can be used to drive up the price for other teams to land the player they were never getting.

Santander was a huge mistake. He doesn'tt want to play for the Jays. THe minute he get traded from the Jays, all his injuries will magically disappear.. He malingered all season because he knew it was going to be a bad one and didn't want to be associated with it as it would just hurt his asking quote. It was just that obvious!!!!

Imagine it, Charles McAdoo as starting 2B....he smashed a massive Center Field HR yesterday. He plays a solid 2B, and Charles McAdoo allows Ernie Clement a central role as late inning replacement for GG defense with 33 double power. Clement can also spell Gimenez & cover 3B if necessary. There is only so much money to go around, especially if they pick M Straw's 8 million dollar option, which I am saying they should so they have L/R duo in Centerfield. T Sato is a beast, but there is the unknown factor coming from Japan. Sometimes it ain't record science, watch the ball fly off his bat--he is left handed. S Suzuki I am suggestiing has an established lower upside, but MLB proven record--he is right handed. Either way is good.
