This channel is my favorite! I'm studying biology, but I wasn't really interested in Botany until I came across this channel 🌱

I've spent so many hours playing this series, I still have my original copies of the game and expansions. Love paleobotony.

There are actually single-celled organisms with multicellular-style eyes (it's the family Warnowiaceae, and the structure is called an Ocelloid because it's not technically an eye as we know it).

This video makes me so happy. I've always really loved how much inspiration Spore takes from actual science. I'm not a biologist and am definitely not a botanist, but I teach physics and astronomy and I have always adored how in depth the universe is in Spore. So much attention to detail! So many (relatively faithful) models of different celestial objects! Nebulae! Black holes! Binary systems! You can so clearly tell this game had lots of very happy nerds behind it. It makes me glad to see that it's not just the astronomy aspect that can make the nerd brains go wild and that the biology and botany parts of it can spark the same joy in others. Great video! I love learning about plants and about Earth history, and you did a stellar job :o)

This is one of my favourite episodes so far! Paleobotany is such an underrated and underappreciated field of biology. Even if I never had the chance to play Spore I loved watching videos of it as a kid.

Keep the good work, and may we all live to see space corn come to pass!

Terraforming in the space stage is literally my favorite part of Spore! I love the idea that you can create these beautiful worlds with diverse plant and animal species and even raise some to sentience like you! It's such a fun game and such a beloved experience! Your information on the botany of our world in relation was fascinating! Thank you for sharing your expertise! (Also! Game crashing and losing your world because the game doesn't autosave, only has a manual save function, is so real! Spore Canon Events)
