  Former professional climbing guide and outdoor program developer. I’ve been all over Alaska, BC, Yukon, Cascades, Rockies, etc. I’ve been all through Olympic Park over the years and I have experienced screams at night that echoed down valleys (rock concert loud), a deep growl with no identifiable source, and a haunting experience at the Upper Duckabush. I heard voices and footsteps and twice got out of my tent to welcome people. No one! &nbsp;Then fight or flight kicked in and I packed up and blasted up to Home Sweet Home in the dark. Felt at peace there. <br>I’m not one to embellish or be creeped out. But I can identify with many of these surreal experiences described by others. In thousands of nights in remote locations I can only attest to these experiences in Olympic National Park and one in the Wind River Range, WY.

  Despite Sasquatch, I recommend the Olympic Rain Forest to anyone who has never been there. It&apos;s beautiful❤

  Always carry a storm whistle when you go hiking...the sound they make carries far greater distance &nbsp;than just shouting...easier for people to find you.

  I grew up there, a postage stamp town called &apos;Humptulips&apos; on that peninsula- down the road from the Rain forest (Ho). We knew not to go in alone. You got people who lived there their whole lives, go in to do something they done a thousand times, and are never seen again- at all. I know young people, especially from cities, like to think of some guardian of the forest thang..but many of the Natives there will tell you it&apos;s a cannibal- being part human. &nbsp; It&apos;s not safe out there.<br>You could go in a thousand times and be fine. But always be prepared for the 1,001st time.

  That Sasquatch definitely helped her to be found. My first thought was it was blocking the trail to get her to go the other way, until you mentioned the trail left by the stick. What an amazing story!<br><br>I did a day hike with a friend once. She took off in some direction without me, and suddenly I had no clue where she was. I really gave her a piece of my mind about safety. I didn&apos;t know about Sasquatch back then, but I sensed the dangers she could have fallen to. We camped in her van in the forest that night; it was pitch dark and so quiet. Humans are more of a concern to me out in the woods than encountering a Sasquatch, tbh.

  In 2007, I took my 16 year old son and my 15 year old nephew on an adventure &nbsp;from our home in Henderson, NV to the Olympic Peninsula. We took a ferry to Victoria, stayed at an oyster farm, dug calm on Hood Canal ( I think lol) anyway, one adventure was into Hoh Rainforest. We were entirely alone. We stopped at the visitor center, checked out the river etc. We saw a trailhead and off we went. It was cold and raining. &nbsp;Every minute or 2 we&apos;d hop over running water, little streams. The boys, for the first time ever, we&apos;re out walking me because they had grown and had long strides. I&apos;m 5&apos;3&quot;. The boys were approaching 6 foot tall. As we went, and I scurried to keep up, there was a sign warning of black bears and telling best methods to avoid an encounter and what to do if you see one. We kept going, as I&apos;m not one to give in and the kids were gung-ho and loving the rainforest. Then there was a sign that told about lions in the area, and how to protect yourself. I stopped to read it and had to really move out to catch up. We had done similar hikes in many places, including in Yellowstone, with no fear, but in the Hoh Rainforest, I had a bad case of the creeps. I didn&apos;t say anything about it though. I kept following the boys. Then, my son looked back over his shoulder and grinned a mischievous grin. &quot; Hurry up Mom! This is our first trip, where you are the prey.&quot; It only took a few more minutes for me to start listening to my inner voice. I suggested we return to the car, and relief crossed their faces. &nbsp;They&apos;d never admit it, but I&apos;m certain that the boys were feeling uncomfortable too. I believe we walked even faster, back to the car.

  When I was 14 my Aunt and Uncle took me there. &nbsp;While they slept I snuck out into the night to do some exploring. &nbsp;Thank God I stayed safe!

  Anna was pretty lucky that the Rangers found her. Amazing that the Bigfoot had a large stick and left a dragging print. Such a scary story. 😮

  Beautiful out there . I drove back through one night in heavy rain and got a bit lost &nbsp;huge lake &nbsp;Crescent on one side and forest on the other . I asked for a sign I was heading in right direction and a huge white owl flew down in front of my car and landed on the side of the road . I swear it was a snowy owl but was told it couldn&apos;t have been. Anyway before I saw the owl I saw light shimmering in front of my windscreen which must have been its huge wings . It was white and huge with a smooth head. I knew then I was on right road! back &nbsp;in UK - wish I had stayed there in Pacific NW .. I miss it every day. Also hiking up high in Olympics my freind got really spooked after we caught a whiff of something unusual.. so we decided not to camp up there .but I was always hoping for a Bigfoot!
