  There has to be some irony in the fact that they started out by asking themselves how they could make a fullly fleshed out character from a mute, disembodied head, only to end the game with him becoming a literal disembodied head.

I really appreciated how smooth the games were on the 8th gen consoles with their notoriously weak cpu.

  One small thing I really loved about new order was the plot point about the sabotaged concrete is hinted at several levels before you get to the camp. You can actually see parts of the new concrete structures you play through starting to rot and crumble. It struck me as the first (and possibly only?) time I have seen meaningful story elements told through texture work alone

  The fact that an actor saying &quot;a metal arm would be cool&quot; turned into a whole addiction arc where we got that incredible animated shot. I love art so much.

  The Wolf reboot’s more introverted, workman-like BJ is still such an inspired choice: &nbsp;being physically indestructible, but emotionally fragile. I’m still waiting for Wolf 3 because of that, and I hope Matthies returns to join MachineGames again to help develop it. And Mick Gordon to do the OST again (if Bethesda isn&apos;t cringe about it).

  Captivating story aside, the way Machine Games&apos; Wolfenstein productions looked, made me spend 2 or 3x more time to finish them, because I was just walking around, looking at the scenery and models and taking hundreads of screenshots. Everything in these games looks so amazing. Hats off to everyone that worked on them, but the model and texture artists in particular!

  I went back and played both of these in the last year (mostly due to the upcoming election at the time) and holy shit, they are both still so good in such different ways. <br><br>Hands down the casting of BJ and his internal monologue go such a long way to show who the character is. Reminds me a lot of Solid Snake’s “war has changed” introspective monologue but it’s even better.<br><br>I truthfully don’t watch a lot of No Clip docs but man, when they do docs about franchises or studios that I love, I wait with bated breath for each episode.
