The Mask not working on Walter might be the most unexpected moment in a series that's full of left turns and wild moments.

One of my favorite theories as to why the mask didn't work on Walter was because, it just didn't fit on his head

I always thought the mask never worked on Walter because the mask allows one to break their inhibitions to cause chaos, but that's just Walter's default state. He's never restrained himself or refused any urges, so what can the mask even offer someone like that?

I'd say Walter represents the one thing the mask can't handle: a tough crowd.

The mask is all about spectacle and showboating. Walter doesn't care. He doesn't acknowledge the mask's antics. He's just there to do a job. I think the mask knows that it can't control someone like that, so it doesn't latch on to him.

I also think this is why he just stands there when Catherine takes off the mask. He was hired to kill "Big Head," not this random woman. She yells at him to take it, but he wasn't there for the mask, he was there for Big Head. Now that Big Head is gone, he's not quite sure what to do.

Odin has a lesser known son named Vidar called The Silent. A god of physical strength and vengeance, he never speaks or engages with the other gods much, as he is of a single-minded nature. He spends every moment preparing for Ragnarock as he is prophesized to survive even the apocalypse, for there will surely be need of much vengeance in the aftermath.

Nothing in the comics will ever come as close to the horror that is son of the mask.

0:42 I'm now imagining a scenario of Death Note where Light Yagami gets the Mask and starts using it to kill criminals across Japan, and L basically has to go up against a Looney Tunes character. Someone should write that fic...

The Mask in the comics is essentially the urban one ring to rule them all.

-Both slowly corrupts the wearer after some time

-Makes people addicted to it due to its inherit abilities

-Empowers the user to fit their goals

-Highly sought after by individuals who know of it

The way walter was handled is one of the best things in the comic. Hes almost like a force of nature. He comes in, does what he wants, others may try using him but walter does as he pleases and he gets what he wants. Almost exactly like the mask itself.
