He was actually the lead singer and lead guitarist with the James Gang and also solo before joining the Eagles. He did other solo stuff, including this one, while with the Eagles. You should check out James Gang stuff, such as Funk 49, Rocky Mountain Way, and Walk Away

In the live version, he says, "I have a limo, ride in the trunk. They put me there when I get drunk." Joe is a legend.

That reaction to the lyric “Everybody’s so different, I haven’t changed” is one of the best I’ve ever seen on YouTube.

Joe was big before the Eagles. Greatest album name back then too. The Smoker You Drink The Player You Get. Joe is a serious legend.

Joe Walsh was already a big name before the Eagles. In fact, the Eagles hired him partially because he had real rockstar street-cred. He was a party animal, trasher of hotel rooms, etc. They felt their image needed a little toughening. He was perfect.

Joe Walsh has way more than one hit single— also long before he ever went solo or joined the Eagles, he was crazy good on the 3 man band, The James Gang

JW went from The James Gang (Walk Away, Funk #49) to solo work like this, and then with the Eagles starting with Hotel California.

I grew up a few miles from Joe’s house in Cleveland. Fun fact: Joe gave Jimmy Page his iconic sunburst Les Paul back in the early 70’s. Jimmy was playing a Telecaster and wanted another guitar with more punch.
