When I was 15, docs found a tumor in my leg. I was in Shands Teaching Hospital, in Gainesville, FL. Tom Petty and Joe Walsh performed in the city the night before, but Joe Walsh came to the pediatric floor to see the kids, and sign autographs. He was so kind, and when I asked him to sign autographs for my (5) siblings he obliged me!! I have NEVER forgotten how he took time to come see a bunch of sick kids.❤❤❤❤❤❤

In a conversation with Ozzy Osborne, Joe asked if he remembered when they toured together. Ozzy said, "No?!" Joe responded, "Neither do I ..... but I have one of the posters!"

When interpreting a song from Joe Walsh - remember, the smoker you drink, the player you get.

Joe Walsh described writing the lyrics to this song during an interview with Howard Stern. Walsh explained he had the track recorded but had no ideas for lyrics. He had been living in Colorado after leaving the James Gang over creative differences with the direction of the music. He was mowing his lawn and looking at the Rocky Mountains and the lyrics came to him. He ran inside to write the lyrics but forgot to shut off the lawn mower. The mower ran into his neighbor's yard and ruined the neighbor's garden.
"It was a very expensive song to write," Walsh said, implying he had to pay to repair the damage to the neighbor's yard. He said the lyrics describe his anxiety about leaving the James Gang and his excitement about a solo career.

Joe Walsh was a Superstar 8 years before he joined the Eagles. This song especially shows of his mastery of the slide guitar. Joe was amazing with a slide.

Essentially, a talk box is any instrument (usually a guitar) played through a speaker that's enclosed inside a box. Out of that box comes a tube that runs up a microphone stand. The sound you play is now coming out that tube. You put the tube in your mouth and play the instrument, shaping the sound with your mouth, and that is picked up by the microphone.

Joe does it with a guitar, Roger Troutman used a keyboard with a "bender"

I was listening to Joe Walsh from The James Gang in the early 70's. He was the last piece of the puzzle that propelled the Eagles from a great band to a supergroup. Sometimes magic happens and we had plenty of magic in the 70's.
