  I forget who said it, but someone on one of these annniversary documentaries said “Star Trek is a set of morality plays, but it gets away with it because we’re in space.” &nbsp;Didnt always stick the landing, but the over all approach was solid. <br><br>Now its just like “hey, Ive always wanted to do a horror movie, and a film noir. Oh, and the muppets are cool, lets work with them.”

  It’s crazy to me that when someone pitched the puppet episode people agreed with the idea instead of just beating that person to death.

  You know I saw this concept as a meme on and off for years - make the whole cast of a TV show into muppets, except for one character... It should have stayed as a meme. Hope the originator of the meme sues them for stealing their IP.

  IF.... you&apos;d have slapped the muppet show opening on it and swapped the Orions for the pigs in space... This would have been a crowning achievement of the Muppet Show.<br><br>As a Star Trek episode... tonally its a shark jump.

  As you explain it, one gets the idea the Dream explanation IS probably correct and deliberate.<br><br>The difference of course is that in Rascals the affected people played it straight. &nbsp;It allowed the opportunity for thoughtful growth brought on by the ultimate What-IF-ism. &nbsp;Excellent writing of an excellent premise.<br><br>In SNW it is treated as a punch line only. &nbsp;One ....... Long ..... Punchline. &nbsp;There is nothing serious in these writers. &nbsp;They do not want to be good writers. &nbsp;They like the milkshakes too much.
