  The cream of the crop in Country music. They did Country right.<br>We still have Willy Nelson but Johnny, Waylon , and Chris are now Ghost Riders in the Sky.

  Great reaction. &nbsp;Highwayman is another song from The Highwaymen which you &nbsp;should listen to. Individually they were all amazing. &nbsp;Always thought of them as four friends having fun together

  This song was born out of a real story of a tragedy in Texas in which a stampede killed cattle and cowboys on a stormy night, when lightning and thunder spooked the herd to run over the edge of a high mesa cliff in 1889.The tragedy became a campfire tale of demons on that mesa and that people could hear the spirits of the dead cattle and Cowboys across the endless sky …carried by the eerie winds through the canyon. Stan Jones ,the composer wrote this from hearing the tale working at a National Park at a campfire story telling event by an old Cowboy,who told the tale.

  You have just waded into one of the best things possible. All 4 are legends, and to hear them, see them together is something dreams are made of. All are close friends for years. &nbsp;The song has been recorded by pretty much everyone. In 60s and 70s country, most recorded each others songs. Dig into each one and it will take awhile, even on your own time. Willie and Waylon also did a few albums together years ago, which are really good. Poncho and Lefty, etc.<br>Par was talking about Johnny Cash--A Boy named Sue, Ring of Fire, &nbsp;Folsom Prison Blues, Big River, Ghost Riders, American by Birth, Ballad of a teenage queen, A thing called love. &nbsp;I Feel Better All OVer is one of my faves. Lots of violin.... Kris Kristofferson did lots of movies as well. suffice it to say they are all great songwriters and definite royalty. As a group, look for America Remains, Desperados waiting for a Train, The last cowboy song, Highwayman the song became a #1 hit.

  Original was 1948, but I first heard it in the 1950s, when cowboy films, TV shows and wardrobe were all the rage. I sucked it all in as a child. Today I have a belt with an &quot;Indian&quot; buckle I wear on special occasions, and some boots from the 1970s with a bit of tooling and stirrup-high heels.

  Ghost Riders in the Sky was written by Stan Jones. The song might be based on much older European myths or it might be based on a story from Native American (Apache) folklore. It&apos;s great to see these legendary musicians performing this classic. Nice reaction and excellent analysis Panya &amp; Par! Thank you!

  This is a fun song for sure. Check out Geoff Casteluci singing this or several other songs like Big Iron, Big Bad John, and many others where he sings all of the parts with a massive range.

  First, can we all admire Willie&apos;s absolutely epic mullet? Johnny Cash had a huge hit with this earlier in his career. The Outlaws also have an epic version.
