MacArthur was a narcissist, just like Montgomery.<br>Barbarossa was supposed to have been launched week before it actually took place, but it was due to Mussolini s invasion of Greece. German troops were diverted to support Italys invasion of Greece. Then they had to take Crete, which cause the heavy loss of transport aircraft, and soldiers.

There were no landing boats with ramps at Gallipoli. They were row boats initially towed by motor launches. Market Garden was not made up by Monty. He ended up commanding and supporting the plan. The advance would have been better if the US force had taken the bridge immediately after landing instead of sitting at the landing area. Gave time for the Germans to reinforce the defence from a small to a large group. Another reason Hitler refused the Stalingrad withdrawl was they were tying up a lot of Soviet forces which would have otherwise attacked the southern army group. Probably both reasons of not giving ground and looking after the other army.
