  It's getting worse - bollocks. Compared to the 80s and 90s, it's a hundred times better today. All the slum housing, and there was a lot back then, is long gone. There were several estates that looked like war zones in the 90s, that today are family friendly and relatively prosperous

  In the Greenock area you talked about shipyards dying but you need to also mention the death of IBM mid-50's to about 2016, employing 5000 at its maximum, a lot of them ex-shipyard workers... all gone.

  That Friday nightlife has died down a good bit. Most people just try and survive however they can, working honest jobs, raising their kids, and there’s just no investment into the city. The more people try and cope with less, the less you get given. People are punished for trying to cope.

  A completely different Glasgow to one I have lived in for the last 25 years. its a fantastic and vibrant city but if you go looking for shit in the worst places no doubt you will find what you are looking for.
