  I live in rural Somerset. As long as there's a pub nearby and a shop to visit once a week for milk I'm happy.

  much of Britiain is like that it just gets skewed by the big cities and there are thousands of towns and villages that just get on with what they do.

  We live in North Carolina but travel to England as often as we can.  My favorite place on Earth is the North and North East of England.  Your reporting touched on what makes this place special to us.  These people are not only my ancestors but truly are the salt of this Earth.

  I live in Northern England.  Northumberland, Durham, N.Yorkshire and Cumbria all on my doorstep, you won't find better places.
