    i really appreciate your more pragmatic view on making games. i understand people are passionate about making games but at the end of the day it's just another piece of software.

    I just played the demo of Snacko and they do an interesting variation on the advice to make a demo with some progress already. Their demo actually has two Start buttons, one to start from the beginning and one to start part of the way through.

    An important thing to also consider is game size. During next fest, people go trough a ton of demos so the moment one of those demos take up more than a gig of space, they give up on it. Make sure your demo is a properly stripped down version, not just the full game with a few given levels.
