  Lights first mistake was not just killing criminals thorough natural causes. he killed them with heart attacks because the wanted people to know there was someone out there laying down justice. his ego was his end because he wouldn't have been caught if he didn't reveal the existence of Kira.

  It’s a fan theory that Light Becomes a shinigami. It’s not confirmed, but there’s a decent amount of evidence for the theory.

  To be fair to Light at the end of the video: He never killed petty criminals. That's actually something that made L figure out that there has to be two Kiras, because Misa actually did that, while Light was known for not only never killing people over petty crimes, but even letting murderers off the hook who showed genuine remorse for their actions or commited them under special circumstances. So basically Light made sure the people he killed were evil. The problem was that he came to consider anyone as evil who stood in his way, because that meant they were enemies of justice. Hence the death of FBI agents, police officers, news people who talked shit about him, or that Kira cult who used his name for their own gain.

  The Death Note says that a person who uses it can neither go to heaven or hell. <br><br>Since neither the show or manga explain where Shinigami come from, only how they die, it is kind of taken as an implication that those stranded souls become Shinigami.

  In the manga, Light begs Ryuk in front of everyone not to write his name in the Death Note. Showing that he was afraid of death. The complete opposite of how he acts normally. He dies in front of everyone while screaming that he didn&apos;t want to die or go to jail.<br><br>The manga was the equivalent of having low honor while the anime was equivalent of having high honor.

  We actually do know Naomi Misora&apos;s fate. She offed herself, and Light tried to set it up as a heartbreak based su1cid3, but he didn&apos;t realize how well L knew Naomi.<br><br>L, upon learning Naomi had offed herself in her apartment, knew something was wrong. He states she wasn&apos;t the type to just back down from pursuing Ray&apos;s killer even in the face of emotional turmoil.<br><br>It was these circumstances that led L to hypothesize the possibility of Kira controlling people before they die.<br><br>This further leads him to look further into Ray&apos;s suspect list which ultimately leads L to Light, who constantly presents himself suspiciously by trying to be too perfect while under suspicion.<br><br>Misa just added more foundation to his theory, but he couldn&apos;t act without proof or a proper admission of guilt.

  I&apos;ve done the math of his approximate kill count.<br><br>Light killed about 1 person an hour for five years. And it stated that he steadily increased the count ten fold in those five years.<br><br>So he probably got around 350,000-400,000 bodies without issue.😐

  This show takes place in the mid 2000s so cameras weren’t as prevalent or good as they are today. There’s actually a mini sequel that takes place around 2020 (more or less) that explores this idea.

  He missed a scene that was genius it was where they have cameras on light in his room and he suspected it so as their watching him he hides the death note In a bag of chips so when he puts his hand in to grab a chip he&apos;s actually writing the names of people still so they think he can&apos;t be the killer if people are still dying and he&apos;s not writing in the journal. They also show this in the movie
