  At this point, it&apos;s a habit to hear Nerd&apos;s voice narrate in my head when I navigate dangerous/suspicious situations. It&apos;s almost like an extra sense of awareness

  A surprising amount of kidnappers let their victims &quot;go&quot;, mostly in the case that they&apos;ve been captive for years, and have shown submission. This is because these types of kidnappers are so narcissistic they believe their victims are 100% under their control and will never &quot;betray&quot; them. There are at least two cases off the top of my head where the kidnapper even let their victim phone home or visit home.<br><br>The sad part is, though, that often in these cases the victims are so traumatized and under the kidnapper&apos;s control that even in situations where they could escape, such as in public, they don&apos;t even attempt to leave.

  I have new found appreciation for the school assemblies and after school specials that taught me how to avoid kidnappers when I was a kid. Nowadays people share way too much on the internet.

  I love all this. I really think the vast majority of teenage girls would be so easily manipulated once they&apos;re captured bc they&apos;re just teenagers. If I had a teenage daughter I would definitely make sure she watched this episode of nerd explains.
