Paul McCartney played this song for Brian Wilson and his wife from the Beach Boys at Brian’s house on the piano before the song was released and it made Brian and his wife cry.

What’s interesting is that Paul is narrating the young woman’s experience from an emotional distance, while John is playing the part of the parents up close and personal, but we never hear from her.

No guitars, no drums. Just a harp, the orchestra and the voice harmonies. An incredibly bold thing for a pop group to do, unique and fantastic.
