In California corruption is running rampant with taxpayers as the ultimate victim. Too much government, too little transparency, too much power concentrated in too few hands. Welcome to the golden state!

There are a lot of foster youth who do this! They are guaranteed Chafey grants of about $5500 so they apply, get the money, and have no intention of attending. It's a FREE money grab

Should require them to show up in person to register and have a valid ID.

It happens not only community college. UCs and Cal states too. Parents show that they are separated and claim single parent benefits too 😔

The sick thing is the state of CA and administrators at the community colleges, CSUs, and UCs are all up in arms because “enrollment is up at community colleges!” And so they don’t adjust their enrollment targets. Yes, all those schools have enrollment targets to hit.

Some teachers at the community colleges don't want to teach or give lectures in online classes. They just post the syllabus and students just have to follow it. No teachers interaction

the people in the system allow this to get out of hand because the more applying for and receiving aid, the more they can claim there is a "need", so demand more money, expand their staff, and ultimately get paid more themselves.
