The criminals need to be locked up for 20 to 50 years, not just 1 to 5 years.

I don't understand how they're stealing the money. The government paid my Pell grant directly to the college, and not to me.

"Download the app online"<br><br>THAT is part of the problem. This is what happens when companies & institutions outsource their duties to 3rd party contractors, and never get held accountable when there's a data breach. Everyone wants to automate & "streamline" everything, but can't be bothered to properly secure and perform basic due dilligence.

Yep. Happened to me and there is no recourse. Getting ready to retire and owe $50k. Not just the loan but your credit. I am not paying.
