  I recently broke up with my girlfriend. We were together for 8 years. Much of what she said sounded a lot like Mary's letter. She apologized for breaking up with me, but said she still loved me and wanted me to follow my dreams. According to her, she might be getting in the way because she doesn't want the same things. I decided to distance myself from her. It's been a month, and it's been very difficult for me.
