  Retired last year from San Diego county. &nbsp;The wife and I were life long Californians, but as many have noted, it was a great place to grow up but now not the same. &nbsp;Moved to South Central Ohio into the foothills of the Appalachians. &nbsp;We live on 23 acres out in the country and loving every minute of this. &nbsp;Never going back to Cali.

  I left CA to TN in 2025. It’s tiring to live day by day and kept hearing about the new legislation got approved, and none of those serve &nbsp;my interest. The last straw was when my home insurance company notified me they were moving out of CA and dropped me after 30 years.

  My mother was raised in San Fran. When I was young we had a number of relatives that still lived there. It was a fun adventure to visit, esp when mom would take us on the Bay ferry. I&apos;m 76 now. My mother died nearly 50 years ago. I&apos;m happy that she never saw what has become of her &quot;beautiful city by the bay&quot;.

  Am 69 retired. Will draw Social Security &nbsp;next year. Left San Francisco in 2023 and moved to Indiana. Went from living like a beggar to living like a King. Indiana does not tax Social Security or military pensions. People are friendly, conservative and religious. San Francisco[1990-2023] was a gem 💎 in the 1990&apos;s &nbsp;and now it is a cesspole.

  My house is paid off and yet I pay $20,000 per year in taxes alone. Over 10 years that is $200,000 and that’s only if the taxes do not go up. Why would I stay in California?

  If you plan to leave Cally, don&apos;t expect other states to be as beautiful and the weather to be as nice. California spoils everyone with nice weather, including me. It&apos;s just too expensive there for me anymore. Good luck everyone.

  We have been kicking around the idea of buying in Williams Arizona . Taxes here in California is horrendous. Never ending gas taxes , property taxes , and most of all politician taxes

  I moved OUT of the People&apos;s Republic of California 5 years ago to Northern Nevada. &nbsp; It was the best move I&apos;ve ever made. &nbsp; However, &nbsp;Nevada is not for everyone. &nbsp; &nbsp;About 5 years before the move, I&apos;d visit the area I planned to move to. &nbsp;I came in the Winter, Spring, Summer, &nbsp;and Fall to get a good feel for what to expect. &nbsp; During the visits, &nbsp;I checked out what the City had to offer.

  I am 66 and lived in CA all of my life and am not looking at homes in Las Vegas for retirement. &nbsp;Not thrilled with the summer weather, but there are many beneficial reasons to leave CA that I cannot ignore any longer.
