One of biggest lessons I’ve learned from life is that nature favors resilient systems not perfect systems, this applies to literally everything alive.

Winners are just losers who tried one more time. My Dad told me to theres no version of (earned) success that isnt built on learning from multiple failures. You start, it sucks, you adjust and keep going.

One way to win:
- set a very high goal
- grind and achieve 75-80% of that goal
- realize that the additional 20-25% requires way more grind/compromise than you thought
- realize that you've actually achieved more than 75% of people ever will
- realize that your original goal was just the dreams of a 22 year old and you can be content with as little 60% of your original goal;
- accept that you have won your own personal game and you can stop playing

In my experience the average person is also afraid to ask. To ask a girl out. Ask a person for a coffee chat. Ask someone successful for career advice.

The problem with outlasting the competition is the fact that the people that last the longest are generally not the most qualified or talented they are generally the most psychotic.

At least for the film industry the people that hold the top positions because they outlasted the competition are not the kind of people you would EVER want to be.

Gosh, quitting in one's 20s is sad. Life has only just begun then. People can still turn their lives around in their 40s, 50s and 60s.

My 2 cents : being in the right place (geography) doing the right thing (industry) is crucial

Few people are competing at a high level and doing smart behavior.

Most of the “competitiveness “ is people sabotaging each other and fighting over scraps at the bottom.
