Personally, I would’ve put the moment Yubel reveals their perverse and twisted definition of love to Amon. I’ve said many times how it’s one Yubel’s best moments but it’s also one of the best standalone scenes of the franchise. No exaggeration. It’s that brilliant. It’s beautifully acted and twisted dynamic contrasting two different versions of love between Amon who sacrificed the woman he loved to control Exodia and build a world free of suffering so no one would have to live like he did during youth and Yubel who did everything just to show her “love” to Jaden. Amon is an emotionally detached sociopath who did what he did in the name righteousness even if it meant killing his love and a psychotic masochist in Yubel who believes suffering for the one you love and hurting them is the true meaning of love. It’s truly compelling scene which shows off two examples of toxic relationships in beautiful way. Plus, Wicked Grudge being the track choice is perfect.
Anyone agree? It’s one of the reasons why Amon vs Yubel is in my top 10 GX duels.
Also, I’m sure that moment will be in your top 10 Yubel moments list.

 I have two honorable mentions!

1. Yubel vs. Amon. One of the most fascinating duels in GX due to how both were reflections of twisted love. The scene with Yubel starts crying believing that pain was Judai’s way of expressing love was so creepy, yet it was such a wonderful way to sum up Yubel’s motivations. Amon also wanting to revive Echo and realizing that he failed her was also a tragic moment for him, but it didn’t excuse his actions.

2. The scenes where we see Sho, Asuka and Manjoume trapped in their darkest anxieties when Darkness consumes them. Sho seeing his sick brother turn to sand and he’s relieved to see him dead especially sticks out with me. You also have Asuka not being accepted by her students in her new teaching job and Manjoume losing his duels and being unable to entertain the crowd both play into relatable social anxieties moments when you’re in a full time job.

Kaiser losing pro match after pro match was a reallity check for him. No matter how good you were in school, No matter if you were the best in said school, once you arrive in the real World there are always others better than you. In Kaisers case the harsh truth was that the pro league is unforgiving and you Fall down a cliff if you arent prepared for it.

Number one should be 4Kids not finishing the dub for Season 4

Surprised Darkness' World didn’t get a look-in, it's basically the same premise as the Shadow Realm where everyone who gets assimilated is forced to live their worst nightmare/fear on repeat.

I found Manjoume's particularly dark because he actually has multiple options which gives him false hope that one of them will be 'right', but no matter which one he chooses they all lead to the same despair.

The thing that bugs me about the Trueman duel is that it’s a third of the way in to season 4, after he’d lost to Judai three times already. It felt more like a rehabilitation duel rather than one that set him up as a character, and a threat.

Still really twisted, still great, I just wish it had happened earlier in the season

If anything I think Season 3 is probably the most darkest ever.

Honestly, Jaden vs Jim is even darker when you compare it to other YGO protagonist because he actually killed someone. Usually when they are about to go off the deep end, something happens to snap off the protagonist, but in here Jaden actually killed people. Sure they all came back but given that they didn't do anything afterwards, thry might as well be dead.
