  If I remember correctly, in one of the Voyager episodes, the whole 2000s tech boom was because the 30+ century ship was lost in the 90s USA, and it&apos;s a core part of the timeline.

  I always thought that the design of the NX-01 looked suspiciously similar to that of the Enterprise E, which Cochrane glimpsed through the telescope. In the rec room of the refit Enterprise in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, we see images of famous ships named Enterprise, all the way back to the age of sail. Of course, the NX-01 is not included among them, since it wouldn&apos;t be conceived until the show Enterprise went on the air decades later. That said, if Archer and has ship had played such a pivotal role in the founding of the Federation, the NX-01 should have been there. It&apos;s fun to speculate that it&apos;s earlier absence is evidence of a changed timeline.

  The arrival of the borg cube triggered a warning bouy left by the makers of the whale probe, launching a chain of events that ultimately leads Montgomery Scott to travel back in time and prematurely introduce advanced materials technology to the year 1986, triggering a chain of events that lead to the premature advancement of human technology which in turn, Indirectly allowed the engineering and construction of the otherwise only theoretically possible warp drive, by Cochrane in 2063.

  aaaaaaand - this is now my canon of why starships look different in strange new worlds than they did in TOS. &nbsp;Cochren saw Enterprise-E and, drawing up models or sketches of what future starships would look like fundamentally changed the design of the first Enterprise.

  The Past being influenced by the Future that is only created because of said influence of the Future in the events of the Past is one of the joys of a Time Paradox, and is much more interesting to me than the time line being changed.
