That plastic horn came out of the box as a toy and left this video with a LinkedIn profile.

This reminds me when I was 10 and learning to play the trumpet my private instructor was a guy who played with all the greats back in the day. One day I was flubbing through the Arban’s book and I said it sounded bad because my trumpet was a piece of junk. He was like oh, it’s the trumpet? Let me have a look. He popped in his mouthpiece and absolutely tore. I had never heard my horn sound like that. I just sat there with my mouth open. He handed it back to me and said seems fine to me. Take it back from the top. I learned that day it’s the plumber not the wrenches.

I'm honored to have played for Mitch Cooper and you two guys. I was hired to record the licks on Trumpet #1, originally the Little Tikes PopTunes Trumpet.

Proof the key is the player more so than the horn. What amazing chops! Thanks!

Not a horn player, but have been around musicians my whole life. A true artist can make toys and junk sound good.

I can literally say I've been following Mitch since he was in diapers. He's fam and we love him for that reason, but there are times I have to shake my head and just marvel at what he's accomplished. The dude works like a dog, but he looks like he enjoys every minute of it. We're way over in Michigan and made a special trip out to see him play at Disneyland. We braved a winter storm to see him play with BBVD. I remember getting notices from his mom and dad that Mitch was the trumpet on this commercial or backing up this singer. I mean this sincerely, there were moments in this video when I was stacking him next to Hirt, Alpert, Marsalis (my generation of horn players) while he was playing. Love ya Mitch, and Funliner...thanks for having him on.

I love the looks on Alan and Everetts faces whenever Mitch just starts ripping. This is like inviting a racecar driver to your house to test drive different cars. Just watching a long time Career professional working but having fun!
