If you're over 40... we remember the Elephant Show... and that cartoon spider. Didn't dream it. Didn't forget it... We're not that old!

I work with elementary schoolers. I'm positive none of them have ever seen The Elephant Show. But they know the Skinnamarink song. It still endures.

As a US citizen, so many of my favorite childhood TV show memories are from Canada.

Maaaaan I saw the thumbnail for this video and immediately dropped my phone and sang the whole song for my husband, with all the hand motions- AND HE DIDN'T KNOW IT!!! 😱😱😱😱😱 My sister and brother and I LOVED that show and watched every episode!!!

Born in 85. The Elephant Show always stood out to me as being legit and genuine, like Mr. Rogers Neighborhood. Neither show felt like a traditional TV show. Both felt like the viewer was spending time with these people IRL. It felt more personal then other live-action children's shows.

I was too old for Barney the Dinosaur when that got big but I felt bad for the kids who were fans when people ruthlessly mocked Barney's ending song. I would be super pissed, back then and today, if people talked badly about Skinnamarink.

I loved Sharon, Lois and Bram and The Elephant Show. It was absolutely my childhood.

I was thinking, no, none of this is familiar. Then you showed the animation of the elephant on the spiderweb and deep memories started to emerge. WTF.

This show, along with Fred Penner's Place, The World of David the Gnome, and The Adventures of the Little Koala take me back to the golden age of Nickelodeon back in the early 90s. I love it, I cherish it.

Not only do I remember this show, but when my old band was recording our first music video at a bed and breakfast, during a break between filming, the B&B owner called us all into the drawing room where she was on a zoom call with Bram who was curious what the music was playing in the background. Me and the drummer knew who he was right away and started singing Skinnamarink, our guitarist and bassist were too young to remember it. Dude was super nice. I loved that show as a kid, so that was a wild experience.

Canada’s children programming in the 80s was top tier. Mr Rogers though he’s not Canadian even started here. I highly recommend people watch the Mr Dressup documentary on Prime. You will laugh, cry and be fully transported back to your childhood.
