I manage a coffee shop. I had this one man apply as a barista and at his interview, upon realizing I was a woman, he got extremely condescending. I introduced myself and asked him to describe himself and he asked me if I could read and gestured to his resume, which if you’ve ever done an interview, you should expect to demonstrate your social skills and not just rely on the resume. After I explained this he refused to talk to me and requested he do his interview with “the man in charge.” I was SO surprised 😂 like sir it’s 2026. This is literally my coffee shop. And this guy was in his early 20s, it was such embarrassing behavior. Obviously he didn’t get far into the interview and when I asked him to leave he called me an “ugly bitch.” That incel is going to have a really hard life unless he sheds that insecurity and learns some manners.

As a woman I’ve been so disappointed by the majority of the women bosses I’ve had. They were paranoid, uncompromising, and unnecessarily rude. As a manager my goal was always to lift my team up and if they want to, advance in their careers. To me the team is a reflection of the manager so if they’re happy I’m happy.

I still love the movie but I hate how much Internet people have GirlBossed Miranda. Like that interviewer saying ''Miranda was never toxic, she was just a woman good at her job!!!!'' Even though the film goes to lengths to show that Miranda is a bad boss because she treats people horribly, not because she's doing her job.

Even if you're earning no money? ... Emily Blunt, do you not realize that rent and food cost MONEY? That I cannot get to work to do the job if I can't paid MONEY for gasoline?

I quit the career I loved to go back to sales because a girl needs to eat and not sleep on the streets

I genuinely can’t watch the devil wears prada because as a member of Gen Z I refuse to work for a boss like Miranda.
But I also refuse to be an employee like Andy, someone who shows up unprepared for a job and scoffs at the work of my coworkers.
I know it’s hard but if you work hard, people will notice your absence. A response to “if a man did this horrible thing no one would care” is now a phrase that I hold close to my heart “well i don’t want to hold myself to the standards of a man”.

A bit beside the point, but I'm starting to hate the LOADS of unnecessary merchandising that's getting pushed everytime films, especially ones tied to nostalgia come out. No one needs Devil Wears Prada merch, especially the generic stuff shown in the video or those severely overpriced popcorn buckets at the cinema. The merchandising for the Wicked movies was also hideous and absolutely out of control, not to mention completely against the message those films.

I was disappointed in this movie. What do you MEAN the inimitable Miranda Preistly was tricked by a company called freaking "Quick fash"

Also.. she was evil in the first movie!? Why not make her true to her character!? Ret conning her screwing over Nigel to be a misunderstanding undermines the entire theme of the first movie. And having all her horrible abusive boss tendencies reframed as just quirks of an otherwise basically good woman is insulting.

as someone who’s gen z i’ve had bosses like miranda and couldnt stand them it’s so difficult bc we can’t leave these jobs due to capitalism but it’s so infuriating as we can’t leave these jobs due to a lack of care for the workers. i’ve been let go for these roles but i was never understood bc of my autism and it’s very tiring and i’m glad that you’ve called this out bc the answer is we need to have progressive change to help workers so they aren’t shorthanded by capitalism and malicious bosses! also emily is always the mvp in devil wears prada i loveeee her so much and i lowkey feel sorry for her in the first movie as i get older lol! amazing video as always bryony also! 💗💗💗💙💙💄💄💄

I greatly appreciate you pointing out Nate is working as a cheif which is a jo that is grueling with bad hours and is notorious for making people work on holidays, important days, and while sick but takes issue with his girlfriend investing in her future to work a shit job for a year. Her dad not getting it and being concerned I understand, but Nate and her friends should get this. They know the deal and should be trying to support while helping her till she can quit.
